## No Guesswork, Full Transparency

These are the most commonly asked questions about Interior Painting. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Chat with our team!

### What if i want to replace my hardware?

We can put new hardware on cabinets, but there is an additional cost if we need to fill and create new holes ($20 per hardware). If we are replacing hardware that fits the same holes, there is no additional cost.

### Can you paint wood grain cabinets?

We can paint wood grain cabinets. However removing the wood grain from the cabinets is not possible, and it will show through the paint in situations.

### How long does a cabinetry project take?

Duration depends on the project. For a kitchen or bathroom, you can expect it to take anywhere from three days to one week.

### Do you paint cabinets that have been painted before?

Kitchens that have been painted before are more problematic and are harder to achieve a factory finish. We do our best to sand and restore cabinets that have multiple coats of paint.

### What kind of paint do you use?

We use Benjamin Moore Command paint for all cabinetry. This paint has a high-durability coverage that self levels for a factory-like finish.

### Do you stain cabinets?

No, we only paint cabinets.

### What sheen do you recommend?

For most kitchens, a satin finish is the best choice. It strikes the perfect balance between durability, ease of cleaning, and aesthetic appeal. Gloss finishes are also a good choice if you prefer more shine.

### Do you handle patchwork or repairs before painting cabinets?

We take care of minor patchwork and prep as part of our process to ensure a high-quality finish. For significant repairs, we may recommend additional support.

### Do you spray in my home?

We take the doors and drawers of your cabinets to our 2,000 sq. ft. cabinetry shop so we can ensure a dust-free finish. The cabinet boxes will be done in your home by sealing off the area to protect the rest of your space.

## How to get a free estimate

Estimates are free and carry no obligation. To request one, go to [https://craftwork.com/estimate](https://craftwork.com/estimate) and fill out the short form. The form checks that the address is in a market Craftwork serves (currently: Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC).

The form walks through five steps:

1. Choose the project type: interior, exterior, or cabinets.
2. Describe the project's size (skipped for cabinets).
3. Pick when you'd like the work to start.
4. Enter the address of the property to be painted.
5. Enter your first name, last name, and phone number, then submit.

After submitting, you can pick a time for an estimate visit. To preselect the project type, link with a `projectType` parameter: [https://craftwork.com/estimate?projectType=interior](https://craftwork.com/estimate?projectType=interior), `exterior`, or `cabinets`.
