10 Yellow Paints We Love in 2024

Our favorite yellow hues displayed in real homes as inspiration for your next project.

Inspiration

For many years I didn't understand why someone would want a yellow room. At its brightest, the shade can be easily described as "overwhelming".

But over the past few years, the use of mustard and golden yellows by interior designers, especially on cabinetry, had me betting a yellow shade would take the 2024 color of the year title for one of the major brands. As far as I've seen, no yellow paints grabbed the crown this year.

Maybe I am ahead of the yellow trend. It was very easy to find 10 yellow shades we loved this year to act as inspiration for your next home project. Whether it's an accent wall, color blocking, cabinets, or a brilliant front door, I would add yellow paint into consideration.

These are Craftwork's favorite yellow paints of 2024:

1. Brittlebrush

2. Bold Yellow

Bold Yellow by Benjamin Moore, featured in Apartment Therapy, is color blocked on the office of Natalie Jacob's row house.

"Your house is a reflection of you. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. It’s nice when other people like it and have positive things to say about it but you are the one that has to wake up and live with it every day. Fill it with things that make you happy and bring a smile to your face," Jacobs said.

3. Babouche

"Winter days beckon for drawing sunshine inspiration from warmer places so palm springs modernism is on the mind," Gowen said.

4. Deserted Path

"We tied a pencil to a string attached to a nail in the wall to get the circle perfect," Dani said of the yellow dot framing the bed. "Don’t be afraid of color; it adds so much warmth and character to a space! Accent walls are a great way to get started."

5. Honeycomb

Imperial Yellow by Benjamin Moore is the shade I imagine when asked to think of the color yellow, reminding me of sun flower petals and childhood. It was selected for the accent wall of an eclectic LA home, featured in Apartment Therapy.

The above kitchen was designed for the 2021 House Beautiful Whole Home by Sabbe Interiors, featured on the magazine's website. The sunny space utilizes India Yellow by Farrow & Ball on the cabinets and wainscoting backsplash.

Here's a fun fact about the inspiration for this colors name. Farrow & Ball said, "This deep mustard yellow is famously named after the pigment collected from the urine of cows fed on a special diet of mango leaves!"

8. Lemonade

Coworking space Ethel's Club in NYC used Lemonade by Clare in their space, color blocking the shade for a modern design.

Clare describes the color as, "A cheerful, refreshing, and light lemony yellow, inspired by the summer drink. And also possibly by our favorite musical artist."

9. Nervy Hue
