Meet Nishi Bhansali: A woman who traded tech sales for sound

She left tech sales to try something her family thought was a little crazy.

Meet Nishi Bhansali: A woman who traded tech sales for sound

The Craft

Nishi Bhansali is a sound healer who creates guided experiences using sound, vibration, and different instruments to help people slow down and relax.

The Spark

Nishi traveled through places like Dubai, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Europe, and Sydney, Australia, where she completed her studies and spent six years building a career in the corporate tech world.

After returning to India, Nishi went to her first sound healing session.

She wasn't particularly good at traditional meditation. Sitting quietly and actively trying to clear her mind was hard. As it is for anyone these days.

This was different. She could simply lie there and listen.

The instruments fascinated her, but even more interesting was how she felt afterward: relaxed, reset, and curious about why sound could have that effect.

“I realized the power of sound.”

The Jump

She began to explore sound healing across India and became certified in Rishikesh, a place known for yoga, meditation, and spiritual learning.

After marriage, she moved from India to the U.S. and found herself with the opportunity to rethink what she wanted her work to look like.

“I wanted to do work that felt more giving.”

So she decided to get certified in sound healing and invest in the instruments she'd need to do it professionally.

Her family wasn't exactly convinced.

“When I told my family, they thought I was going crazy.”

Nishi did it anyway.

She understood the risk. She knew it might fail. And she decided that was a good enough reason to try.

The Now

Today, Nishi hosts an immersive sound healing experience with Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, gong, handpan, tuning fork, and 18 instruments.

Some fall asleep. Some experience strong emotions. Some simply leave feeling more relaxed.

For Nishi, that's part of the point.

"Certain music makes you sad. Some makes you want to dance. Sound is affecting us all the time."

Her goal is to turn a 45-minute session into a complete experience rather than a transaction.

The Workshop

What’s a big misconception?

  • Sound healing is only for people who are struggling or already deeply into wellness.
  • "Sound affects everyone every day; we just don't usually think about it."

What are you still trying to Master?

  • Balance
  • “My ideal world would be having personal time, family time, work time, and passion time.”

What do you attribute your success to?

  • Her husband and family
  • “I was determined enough to go out and do it even if someone told me not to.”

How much of the craft is talent vs. work?

  • 90% learned
  • “Anyone can learn sound healing, but executing it well is about much more than learning the technique.”
